The CII ITC Sustainability Award for Excellence in CSR recognizes GNFC’s innovative CSR strategy that has positively impacted both business and society by taking a strategic approach to CSR through collaborative programmes with government and civil society. Shri C K Mishra, Secretary at the Environment, Forests and Climate Change Ministry gave the award to Dr.Rajiv Kumar Gupta IAS, MD GNFC on 12th December 2017.
The Golden Peacock Award for CSR was received by Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta IAS, MD, GNFC from Shri Shri Ravi Shankar at a gala ceremony in Bengaluru on 20th January 2017. Regarded as the Holy Grail of Corporate Excellence, worldwide, Golden Peacock awarded the GNFC Neem Project for its quantum jump in socio-economic impact in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.
On 18th February 2017, Global CSR awarded GNFC for its contributions to women empowerment, especially through financial emancipation and livelihood generation. Hon’ble Akila Viraj Karuyawasam, M.P., Minister of Education, Srilanka gave away the award, in the presence of Dr.R L Bhatia, founder of World CSR.
The 7th Asia Best CSR Awards 2017 was conducted at Le Méridien, Singapore on 2nd August 2017. GNFC won the CSR award under the Best CSR Practices category for development and implementation of transparent, sustainable and pragmatic socio-economic projects on the grassroots level.

Neem Project was awarded the highest merit of Platinum for Sustainability in the Blue Economy Category, which emphasis the necessary shift of society from scarcity to abundance with what is locally available. The award was given away by Sameer Kochhar, founder of SKOCH Award.
On 26th May 2017, Shri Ramdas Athawale, Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment gave the India CSR Award for PSU Leader of the Year 2017 to Dr.Rajiv Kumar Gupta IAS, Managing Director of GNFC. A senior bureaucrat with over 30 years of experience, Dr.Gupta built the Neem Project from scratch after recognising the need for the formalisation of the Neem Oil industry following the government’s mandate to Neem coat 100% Urea.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum conferred this prestigious award on GNFC in Dubai, UAE on 11th October 2017. The Neem Project’s initiative towards sustainable ‘giving’ and its contribution in uplifting of rural women and girls was praised.
On 27th May 2017, Hon’ble Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad gave the award for ‘Best Implementation of Digital Payments’ to GNFC. The award was supported by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. It was an appreciation for GNFC’s pioneering role in creating the cashless model for townships across India.
Dr.Rajiv Kumar Gupta IAS, MD GNFC received the award from Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, at this event on 16th Dec 2017 in Delhi. GNFC’s innovative ICT adoption to transform the community, business and country was extoled.
The Golden Peacock Award for Innovative Service/Product for 100% Cashless Initiative was received by Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta IAS, Managing Director, GNFC from His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Hon’ble Cabinet Member, Govt. of UAE at Dubai on 19th April 2017. The award recognises the transformation of GNFC’s township into the first ever cashless township in India.
GNFC was conferred upon the Order of Merit Award amongst more than 200 nominations on 20th June 2017. SKOCH conferred the Innovative Corporate Excellence award on GNFC’s 100% Cashless Drive that encompassed a wide array of activities, including digital literacy campaigns, building and adapting of digital infrastructure, and grassroots level training, outreach and support.
The Golden Globe Tigers CSR Award for 100% Cashless Initiative was given to GNFC at award ceremony of Golden Globe Tigers Night 2017 organized at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 24th April 2017. The company won the award under “E-Payment Leadership’ category for effective and successful implementation of digital transactions in its township in Bharuch, Gujarat in a short period of 10 days.
The 100% Cashless Initiative was adjudged among the 100 most impactful projects in the country by SKOCH in 2016 in the arena of Smart Governance. SKOCH is one of the highest independently instituted civilian honours in India and the award was conferred on GNFC at a gala ceremony in the Constitution Club, Delhi, on 8th September 2017.
Out of 1552 trusts, GNFC’s Provident Fund was awarded as it secured 600 out of total 600 points in the performance evaluation. The award was given away by Hon’ble Dr. V. P. Joy, IAS, Central Provident Fund Commissioner of Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on the Invest Next – Retirement Funds Conclave organised on 17th November, 2017 at New Delhi.
